Circular Economy Fresk is a training initiative that aims to deepen our team’s understanding of the circular economy. Some of our colleagues who have completed the training are now becoming facilitators themselves, sharing knowledge with fellow colleagues, partners, and clients. By spreading awareness, we’re sparking new ideas and strengthening our collective commitment to circular principles.

Supporting more sustainable agriculture with UV Boosting
Agriculture plays a crucial role in the ecological transition but faces significant challenges. We’re helping drive progress by providing financing solutions for innovative agricultural equipment – such as UV Boosting, a groundbreaking technology available through Kubota dealers.
UV Boosting is a cutting-edge solution that enhances plant defences through UV-C flashes, providing farmers with a sustainable alternative to traditional fungicides. By stimulating a pre-emptive self-defense mechanism in plants, UV Boosting technology helps increase resistance to pathogens, minimising crop damage and reducing reliance on chemical inputs. The system has been implemented in many vineyards in more than eight countries, and new equipment has been developed to treat other crops such as orchards, strawberries, and even lawns.

BNP Paribas 3 Step IT – A smarter approach to technology lifecycle management
BNP Paribas is committed to supporting the circular economy by financing more sustainable supply chains and consumption models. To accelerate this shift, we partnered with Finland-based 3stepIT in 2019 to launch BNP Paribas 3 Step IT, bringing circular IT lifecycle management solutions to businesses across Europe.
A key part of this service is device refurbishment, which extends the lifespan of IT assets like laptops, desktops, smartphones, tablets, and servers – maximising the value of materials and reducing waste. This solution is available to both BNP Paribas business lines and clients in key markets, including France, Germany, the UK, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain.
A major milestone was reached in November 2024 with the opening of a new refurbishing and remarketing centre in Buchelay, located just 45 minutes from Paris. Covering 3,500 square meters, this facility can process up to 400,000 IT devices per year. By refurbishing and reselling these devices, we’re strengthening our circular solutions and helping to address Europe’s e-waste challenge.
